The Dovetail Joint & Covid-19 18 March 2020

This is a short statement to let our staff, customers and suppliers know how we plan to operate during this current situation:

Anyone entering our premises will be expected to wash their hands immediately with soap and water and dry them thoroughly.

Staff are being reminded to try hard not to touch their own faces and to wash their hands if they do need to, both before if necessary and afterwards.

All used cups, plates and any cutlery to be immediately placed into the dishwasher.

When taking any items that have been delivered into the workshop the member /s  of staff  involved will wash hands straightaway or after unpacking the item if that is required.

All staff are reminded that they must keep their distance from one another within the workshop.

Any member of staff who shows any signs of the illness will be asked to go home immediately and self-isolate as instructed by the Public Health information.

Any member of staff who has a family or household member who is self-isolating at home because they have signs of the illness must also stay at home and follow the recommended guidelines.

Working on site in customers’ homes

Any household which has a known case of someone self-isolating or ill with the virus will not be entered.

On arrival at the site all staff must wash hands with soap and water and dry them thoroughly.  Put on disposable nitrile gloves and a new disposable face mask (unless the task requires a face fitted dust mask).  Handling gloves may be worn on top of the disposable gloves if required.  Disposable mask & gloves to be kept on during the time spent at the customer’s house to reassure our customers that we are doing all we can to prevent any transmission of infection either to the customer and their household or from that household to our staff, which could then be unwittingly passed on to others.

After leaving the house the disposable mask can be removed and placed securely in the rubbish bin and then the gloves removed.

Staff to wash hands as above as soon as they return to the workshop or sooner if possible.
